IHC issues notice to SSP operation on petition seeking recovery of persons kidnapped for ransom, seeks report within a day

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while issuing notice to SSP Operations on the petition seeking recovery of persons allegedly kidnapped for ransom has sought report from him within a day.

Petition filed by Yasir Arafat advocate came up for hearing before Justice Inam Minhas of IHC Monday.

Qaisar Imam advocate appeared on behalf of petitioner.

The court while issuing notice to the respondents adjourned hearing till September 24.

The petitioner has taken the plea in the petition it is feared the kidnapped persons are in the custody of Musharraf Rasul or they are under illegal detention of Islamabad police. Nothing has been told about any case against the kidnapped persons nor have they been presented before any magistrate.

It has been requested in the petition court's bailiff be appointed for recovery of kidnapped person besides ordering for registration of case who have demanded ransom after kidnapping them.

According to the petitioner his close friends Muhammad Waqas and Sohail Bajwa have business relations with Musharraf Rasul since 2018. Son of one friend and wife and three daughters of the second friend have been kidnapped over dispute regarding business transaction.

It was further said in the petition that Islamabad police personnel kidnapped them along with private guards of Musharraf Rasul.

They took into their possession Rs 15000000 cash, 10 tolas gold and 5 vehicles.

The petition said Musharraf Rasul demanded Rs 50 crore ransom from his friend by telephone.

Yasir Arafat advocate took the plea in the petition when he was going to file petition police stopped him on G-14 barricade, subjected him to violence and snatched his car.

Musharraf Rasul, IG Islamabad, IG Punjab, ministry of interior, DIG operations, SHO Police station Sumbal and state have been made respondents in the petition.
