Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear the case regarding promotion of senior bureaucracy on May 30 (Friday).
The respective authorities will present all the record in the court.
It is pertinent to mention here that court during previous hearing had directed respondents to assist the court on five important legal and constitutional questions besides giving arguments.
This directive was issued by justice Inam Minhas
IHC had heard the petitions filed by former information secretary Sohail Ali Khan and other senior officers.
Barrister Omar Gillani, Shoaib Shaheen, Qamar Afzal and other lawyers had represented the petitioners.
After preliminary hearing the court directed federation to present record of the officers promoted in grade-22.
The court had sought replies to some legal questions from the respondents that does the Prime Minister (PM) hold the powers to post the senior officers any- where. Do the amendments made in new laws apply to the movement forward initiated under old rules. If files are prepared under old rules then how will the new rules apply. High powered selection board uses what standard to judge the ability of officer. Did the high powered selection board exercise powers according to decisions of Supreme Court regarding promotions. The court will hear the arguments regarding these legal questions on next hearing.
Further hearing of the case was adjourned till Friday.
