Islamabad: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Alkhidmat Raazi Hospital, Chandni Chowk, Rawalpindi, aimed at enhancing healthcare access for IIUI employees, their dependents, and parents through quality inpatient medical services.Under the agreement, the hospital will offer general, pediatric, and gynecological care, surgical consultations, discounted laboratory tests, and 24/7 emergency services. The MoU also includes collaborative health awareness campaigns and preventive care initiatives for the broader university community, including students.The MoU was signed by Zahid Ali, Chairman of the Management Board at Al-Khidmat Raazi Hospital, and Dr. Inam ul Haq, Director Administration at IIUI. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Usman Zafar (Medical Superintendent), Abdul Hameed (Manager Resources) from Al-Khidmat, and IIUI officials including Atique ur Rehman Chughtai (Director HRMandD), Sajjad Siddiqui, Dr. Wakeel Hussain (Chief Medical Officer), Muhammad Bilal Awan (In-Charge Financial Audit), Dr. Asma Mansoor (In-Charge PandPR), Hassan Shabbir (Assistant Director ICT), and Zara Shah (In-Charge EandM).This initiative aligns with IIUI's ongoing commitment to staff welfare under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed (Chairman HEC / Rector IIUI), Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Al-Ahmed (President IIUI), Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed (Vice President, Research and Enterprise), and Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman (Vice President, Administration and Finance).Later, Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman joined the ceremony and hailed the MoU as a significant step toward institutional care and employee well-being. He remarked that the initiative reflects IIUI's vision of fostering a healthy, informed community, stating: 'Ensuring access to healthcare for employees and their families is just as important as the provision of the medical facilities themselves.'Dr. Inamul Haq, Director Administration / Works, emphasized the broader goal of health education, noting that through this collaboration, the university aims to ensure not only access to treatment but also to raise awareness across all age groups about preventive healthcare. He highlighted that targeted campaigns for both men and women, including students on campus, will help bridge knowledge gaps and reduce reluctance in seeking medical care.Both parties agreed to appoint focal persons for coordination and effective implementation of the agreement. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be developed for both emergency and routine care, while health awareness campaigns-particularly those focused on women's health and student well-being-will be launched under this collaboration.The dedicated coordination efforts of Bilal Awan and Hassan Shabbir were also acknowledged and appreciated for their instrumental roles in successfully materializing the MoU.Alkhidmat Raazi Hospital, with a network of 56 branches across Pakistan, is already serving communities nationwide. This partnership marks a new chapter of coopera tion, reflecting IIUI's proactive approach to institutional healthcare and the well-being of its community.The IIUI administration expressed its intent to further strengthen cooperation with Alkhidmat Raazi Hospital by exploring mechanisms to extend healthcare benefits beyond Rawalpindi. It was proposed that a structured framework be developed to facilitate access for IIUI employees and their families to medical services at other Alkhidmat branches across the country, thereby ensuring broader national access to quality healthcare.
