Illegal appointments in Punjab Assembly case: Court approves one day exemption plea of Pervaiz Elahi

Lahore: Anti Corruption Court (ACC) Lahore has approved exemption plea of former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Muhammad Khan Bhatti in the case related to alleged illegal appointments in Punjab Assembly.

The case came up before ACC Lahore for hearing Wednesday.

Judge Javed Iqbal Warraich of ACC Lahore heard the case.

The court sought arguments on the acquittal plea of the co-accused Mukhtar Ranjha.

The counsels for the former CM Punjab Pervaiz Elahi and his former principal secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatii filed exemption from attendance plea for one day.

Medical certificate was presented in the court form both sides and the court was told both are unwell Doctors have advised to take rest. Muhammad Khan is suffering from back pain. Court should approve plea for one day exemption.

The court while accepting one day exemption plea of Pervaiz Elahi and Muhammad Khan Bhatti adjourned the hearing of the case till June 17.

Anti corruption has already filed challan of the case.
