Imposing restrictions on historical books of Kashmiris by Modi govt is worst example of fascism: Sherry Rehman

Islamabad: PPP vice president Senator Sherry Rehman while slamming Indian government for imposing restrictions on historical books of Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir has said this step is the worst example of fascism of Modi government.

It is not brutal attack on the basic rights of people of Kashmir but also is blatant attack on freedom of expression of people of Kashmir.

Talking to media men here she said this act on the part of India manifests its undemocratic thinking and dictatorial designs.

The states fearful of books in fact admit their political and moral failures.

Every attempt to gag freedom of expression and suppress truth has met failure in the history. India will too have to face this doom.

Facts are not effaced by suppressing history but they become more conspicuous.

She said Indian policies have pushed Kashmiri youths to intellectual slavery. Now attempts are being made to efface Kashmiri identity by imposing restrictions on books. But this plan will not succeed.

She demanded of international community to take immediate notice of this unconstitutional and inhuman Indian act and raise voice for protection of basic rights of people of Kashmir.
