ISLAMABAD : Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan has fled from FIA, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), foreign funding case, Malam Jabba case, helicopter case and BRT Peshawar case. She said that the brave people who did not commit anything wrong speak face to face.
Marriyum Aurangzeb expressed these views in an interview with a private TV Channel. She stated that Imran Khan was not permitted to meet Dr. Shahbaz Gill because he wants to take the law in his own hands, he is not ready to become answerable before the Election Commission of Pakistan, Supreme Court of Pakistan, high court, FIA and also wants clash between the Punjab police with Islamabad police because there is matter of Shahbaz Gill. She said that one person is continuously violating the law and is not replying any allegation and investigation. She said that court order is required for meeting any prisoner, adding that Imran Khan during his four years tenure arrested the PML-N leaders and kept them in death cells and did not permit meeting their children with them. Marriyum Aurangzeb said that she secured court orders for meeting all these people in jails.
Marriyum Aurangzeb further clarified that during Nawaz Sharif’s incarceration days, his daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif had to obtain court orders prior to meeting with her father. “Nobody could bar Imran Khan from meeting his ‘Chief of Staff’ if he furnishes a court’s order; being insistent to meeting without having order is nothing but a useless show of hooliganism outside the PIMS”, she maintained. She said that Imran Khan should bring court orders for meeting with his chief of staff.
The Information Minister said that what was the problem, adding that Shahbaz Gill while reading out the transcript written by Imran Khan called mutiny between the institutions and bureaucracy, adding that Shahbaz Gill should reply the questions during the investigations that on whom orders and why he did this work. She said that dramas are being staged for fleeing from the instigations. She said that Imran Khan, his spokesperson and in PTI senators have disassociated themselves from the statement read out by Shahbaz Gill. She said that if Imran Khan wants to meet Shahbaz Gill then should bring court order.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the medical report says Shahbaz Gill is fit, adding that 14 or 15 doctors have given the medical report. She said that PML-N never challenged veracity of government medical panels reports presented in court regarding Nawaz Sharif. She said that when Nawaz Sharif fell ill in NAB custody it was the medical board constituted and chaired by Dr. Yasmin Rashid. She said that everything is done according to the law and doctors could not be brought from United Kingdom and United States for medical board of Shahbaz Gill.
Replying a question, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that instead of carrying out rally for expressing solidarity with Shehbaz Gill, Imran Khan should tell the nation that on his directions Gill had given the statement on ARY News. She said that Shahbaz Gill should think that the person on whom directions he had issued the statement and read out the transcript has disassociated himself from the statement. She said that Imran Khan is the same person who did not attend the funerals of his mentors and forget the favors of the close friends, adding that Imran Khan is a hypocrite and liar. She said that if Imran Khan wants to express solidarity then he should say Shahbaz Gill issued statement on his behalf and he will be released and Imran Khan will be brought to justice.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that this is matter of courage that a father come back to Pakistan for going to jail on false accusations while holding the hand of his daughter, adding that it is matter of courage to come back in country after leaving the wife on death bed, adding that it is matter of courage that Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was sent behind the bars two times and his daughters were dragged to accountability courts, adding that this is done by those who did not commit anything wrong and they replying face to face.
Meanwhile Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has rejected allegations of torture on PTI leader Shahbaz Gill.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Saturday, she said a fake video was used on social media for propaganda. She said PTI is trying to divert the attention of people from the actual case against Shahbaz Gill by using fake news and social media.
The Minister said Imran Khan and other PTI leadership has condemned Shahbaz Gill’s statement but on the other side they are trying to change the story. She said PTI and Imran Khan cannot distort the facts of the case. She said FIR against PTI leader Shahbaz Gill was lodged as per law.
Marriyum Aurangzeb asked the media to verify news before airing it and avoid spreading misinformation.
