Karachi: Alkhidmat Karachi's Health Services Program observed International Nurses Day at all Alkhidmat hospitals and medical centers across Karachi. Special ceremonies were organized to mark the occasion, where tribute was paid to the dedication and services of nurses, and cakes were cut to express solidarity and appreciation for their contributions.Special events were held at Alkhidmat Nazimabad Hospital, Shah Faisal Colony Medical Center, Alkhidmat Orangi, Korangi Town, Alkhidmat Fareeda Yaqoob Hospital, and North Karachi Hospital. Nurses, doctors, and other staff members participated in the ceremonies.Speaking on the occasion, Director Health Services, Alkhidmat Karachi, Dr. Saqib Ansari said that the day is dedicated to acknowledging and honoring the invaluable services of nurses working in hospitals. He stated that the nursing profession holds a vital position in the healthcare sector and serves as its backbone. According to him, the spirit of service is the foremost priority for those associated w ith the nursing profession, which is why they not only care for patients and assist in treatment but also provide comfort and emotional support to them.Dr. Saqib Ansari said that nurses perform their duties with dedication, hard work, patience, and compassion. He added that during difficult situations and health emergencies, including epidemics, nursing staff have demonstrated remarkable patience, sacrifice, and commitment, which deserves great appreciation. He noted that the nursing profession is now regarded with respect, honor, and admiration due to its essential role in healthcare services. He further stated that the high standard of nursing education in Pakistan can be judged by the strong demand for Pakistani nurses in Gulf and European countries. Pakistani nurses, through their professionalism and expertise, are bringing recognition to the country worldwide.Dr. Saqib Ansari added that hospital management will continue taking every possible step for the welfare, professional development, and improve ment of nursing staff. He also congratulated all nurses on the occasion of International Nurses Day.
