Islamabad: PTI founder Imran Khan has filed intra court appeal in Supreme Court (SC) against decision in judges transfer and seniority case.

The petition said transfer of judges is attack on independence of judiciary. The motive behind transferring judges from three high court to Islamabad High Court (IHC) is pushing back independent judges.

Imran Khan took the plea in the petition some judges of IHC had written letter against the interference. Instead of taking action in connection with letter, the seniority of these judges was affected. Transfer under article 200 can be only temporary.

According to petitioner president has no powers to transfer the judges or determine their seniority. The powers laid down in the constitution be not allowed to be misused.

It was requested in the petition the independence of judges, seniority and court's sovereignty be protected.
