Islamabad: Investigation into negative propaganda on social media is underway in JIT while decision has been taken to issue arrest warrants of 20 leaders of PTI.

According to well informed sources PTI leaders did not appear before JTI despite several notices. Therefore, decision has been taken to issue arrest warrants for not cooperating in connection with investigation.

As per sources name of Waqas Akram, Hammad Azhar, Zulfi Bokhari, Aun Abbas, Mian Aslam, Firdous Shamim, Taimore Salim and Jibran Ilyas are included among these leaders.

Arrest warrants of Khalid Khurshid, Shehbaz Gill, Azhar Mashwani and others will also be issued.

According to police sources JIT had sent several notices to PTI leaders for appearing. Notices were served at the residences of all leaders. Barrister Gohar, Shibli Faraz, Aleema Khan and others have appeared before JIT.

Investigations against PTI leaders on the matter of anti state propaganda on social media is underway. JIT was constituted under IG Islamabad for investigation.

JIT was constituted under section 30 of PECA act-2016.
