Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif while welcoming US participation in Pakistan Investment Forum has stressed Pakistan mineral sector has vast potential and immense opportunities and US companies should take advantage of investment opportunities in this priority sector.
.US delegation was led by senior bureau official and acting assistant secretary, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, US department.
The delegation is visiting Pakistan to participate in Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum.
Underscoring the importance of Pakistan-US relations in bilateral perspective and regional peace and security PM said we are desirous for working with president Trump and his administration to consolidate bilateral ties with US. Need is there to enhance cooperation in anti terrorism and sectors of mutual benefit including terrorism besides trade and investment between two countries.
Acting Assistant Secretary Eric Meyer congratulated Pakistan on successfully hosting Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum. He acknowledged the potential of Pakistan's mineral sector and conveyed the interest of US companies to invest in the sector.
He also expressed US desire to work with Pakistan on issues of shared interest.
He said the US is aspirant for further promoting bilateral ties with Pakistan.
Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, federal minister for economic affairs, Ahad Khan Cheema, minister for petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik , special assistant Tariq Fatmi and other high level officials were also present on the occasion.
