Kuala lumpur: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar called on Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, in Putrajaya. He conveyed warm wishes from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to deepening bilateral ties with Malaysia. He also appreciated Malaysia's leadership as ASEAN Chair for the year 2025.
PM Anwar Ibrahim reciprocated the warm sentiments; looked forward to the visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif this year in October.
Ishaq Dar thanked PM Anwar Ibrahim for the warm hospitality and impressive arrangements at the #ARF2025 Ministerial meeting; also appreciated the practical steps taken by the Malaysian side for promotion of trade and investment between the countries following the Pakistan visit of PM Anwar Ibrahim in October 2024.
Meanwhile Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to continuing its efforts toward peace in the region.
Addressing the Pakistani community in Kuala Lumpur, Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan believes in peace and in building relationships based on equality, dignity and mutual respect.
Alluding to the recent tensions with India, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Pakistan gave a befitting and measured response to Indian aggression. He stated that India seeks to establish hegemony in the region, but Pakistan shattered its pride through its response.
He said the defeat inflicted by Pakistan has been difficult for the Indian political leadership to digest.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over improvement on the economic front. He pointed out that inflation rate has come down to single digit.
