Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a committee meeting to finalize short, medium, and long-term actions to resolve challenges in the Exploration and Production (EandP) sector.The committee reviewed progress made since the last meeting. The DPM/FM appreciated the progress on digitization of DGPC workflows, which will ease business processes and improve efficiency.Ishaq Dar commended the Petroleum Division for carrying out offshore bid rounds in-line with the earlier decisions of the committee.The committee expressed satisfaction on the award of 23 new offshore blocks and welcomes participation by new entrants.Ishaq Dar also appreciated collaborative efforts for resumption of the LPG plant and discussed sector initiatives including excess LNG management and potential ethanol blending into petrol, highlighting the government's focus on growth and efficiency in the energy sector.Meanwhile Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday to review preparations for celebrating 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations in a befitting manner.The DPM/FM approved various comemorative activities to be undertaken across the country. Both countries would also hold a number of joint activities to celeberate their All Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
