Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar concluded his one-day visit to Istanbul after participating in the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister attended the meeting alongside Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
During his visit, Senator Ishaq Dar also held a bilateral meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister is now travelling from Istanbul to Bishkek alongside Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Trkiye's Minister of National Defence Yasar Gler.
In Bishkek, Senator Ishaq Dar will join Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistani delegation for the SCO Council of Heads of State Meeting and the SCO Plus Summit.
He will accompany the Prime Minister during his official engagements, including bilateral discussions with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov on September 2 regarding Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations and ways to further strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic is scheduled from August 31 to September 2, 2026.
During the visit, Pakistan is expected to assume the Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State for the 2026-27 term.
