Ishaq Dar, FMs of Czech Republic, Portugal and Colombia exchange views on regional issues

New york: Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Petr Macinka on the sidelines of the UNSC Open Briefing.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction at the increasingly substantive cooperation between Pakistan and Czech Republic.

Appreciating the growing momentum in bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Czech Republic, DPM/FM highlighted the potential for further expansion of cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, science and technology, education and people to people contacts.

They also exchanged views on regional and global issues and agreed to intensify high level contacts and further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Portugal's Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Paulo Rangel in New York.

They discussed matters of mutual concern including bilateral relations, regional developments, and cooperation at multilateral forums, including at the UN.

The Portuguese Minister expressed his appreciation for Pakistan's mediation efforts in West Asia. They also exchanged views on the Palestinian issue.

DPM/FM also invited Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel to visit Pakistan, which he warmly accepted.

Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio Foreign Minister of the Republic of Colombia, in New York.

The two leaders discussed ways to further enhance cooperation in trade, investment, education, defense, culture, and multilateral engagement.

As both countries are currently members of the UN Security Council, the DPM/FM appreciated Colombia's principled positions on regional and international issues and reaffirmed Pakistan's desire for a stronger partnership with Colombia in multilateral fora, including the UN.

The two sides discussed regional and international developments, including the situation in Palestine, and reaffirmed their support for dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to the UN Charter and international law.

They also agreed to maintain regular high-level contacts and institutional engagement to further deepen Pakistan-Colombia relations.
