Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to the concerned parties and sought their responses on a bail restoration petition filed by Najaf Hameed, brother of former DG ISI Faiz Hameed, in an FIA fraud case.
The case was heard by Justice Raja Inam Ameen Minhas. During the hearing, Najaf Hameed was present in court as proceedings continued on his challenge to the cancellation of his bail in the FIA fraud reference. He had approached the Islamabad High Court against the January 24 decision of the Special Judge Central, which had ordered the cancellation of his bail.
During Wednesday's hearing, the IHC formally issued notices on Najaf Hameed's application for restoration of bail. Earlier, Najaf Hameed appeared before the court along with his counsel Qadeer Janjua and Ahad Khokhar. His lawyers requested the court to suspend the impugned order cancelling the bail.
In response, Justice Raja Inam Ameen Minhas remarked that notices had already been issued and directed the counsels to wait for the replies from the respondents. The court also ordered that a written order be issued in this regard.
