Rawalpindi: On 15 January 2026, approximately 15 to 20 Indian-sponsored terrorists of Fitna Al Hindustan carried out multiple terrorist attacks in Kharan City, District Kharan, targeting the City Police Station, National Bank of Pakistan, and Habib Bank Limited. During the attacks, terrorists looted Rs 3.4 million from the banks.
Security Forces effectively responded to the attacks, engaging the terrorists and forcing them to retreat. In the ensuing clearance operations, twelve terrorists were killed in three separate engagements. The terrorists' plan to create a hostage situation at the police station was also successfully foiled.
Sanitization operations continue in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining terrorists. A relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision 'Azm-e-Istehkam', as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace by Pakistan's Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
