Israeli Attacks Kill Three in Gaza; Teen Shot Dead in West Bank Raids

Jerusalem: Fresh Israeli strikes in southern Gaza have left three Palestinians dead, officials said on Sunday, as violence continues despite growing international calls for restraint. In the occupied West Bank, a teenage Palestinian was shot and killed during an Israeli raid on the Askar refugee camp east of Nablus, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.

Medical teams reported that the raid involved intense live fire, leaving several others injured. The Red Crescent confirmed that the youth succumbed to bullet wounds at the scene.

Meanwhile, Israeli authorities have handed over 15 more bodies of Palestinians detained in Gaza, raising to 330 the number of dead returned since the October 10 ceasefire.

In Gaza, humanitarian conditions worsened after heavy rains flooded displacement camps, soaking tents and leaving families without blankets or dry clothing. The United Nations warned that ongoing restrictions on humanitarian aid have deprived hundreds of thousands of Palestinians of proper shelter as winter approaches.

The environmental crisis in Gaza is also deepening, with nearly 700,000 tons of accumulated solid waste posing severe public health risks. Aid groups have warned that disease outbreaks are increasingly likely due to overcrowding, poor sanitation, and lack of medical supplies.

Reports have also emerged of displaced Palestinians using secret routes to move across parts of Gaza amid concerns over informal trafficking networks taking advantage of desperate families.

According to Gaza's health authorities, Israel's war on the enclave has so far killed 69,483 Palestinians, with 170,706 others wounded since the conflict began in October 2023. In Israel, 1,139 people were killed and around 200 captives were taken during the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 attacks.
