Jaffer Express attacked near Bolan, train driver injured, passengers held hostage

Quetta: Unidentified gunmen have opened fire on the Jaffer Express on its way from Quetta to Peshawar and driver of the train has been critically injured.

The terrorists stopped the train in Machh hills.

As per media report , the train departed Quetta at 9:30 AM and when train passed through Piro Gandari in the Bolan region, some unknown armed persons opened fire on it. Resultantly driver was critically injured who was shifted to hospital. Firing is still ongoing in the area.

The Balochistan government spokesperson stated that the nature of the attack is being assessed, with the possibility of a terrorist incident not being ruled out. Emergency has been declared at Sibi Hospital, and ambulances have been dispatched to the scene.

As per DS Railway PRO, emergency has been declared in all the hospitals. Ambulances have been dispatched from Sibbi to the scene.

According to security forces sources this is mid area of Machh hils and security forces have cordoned off the area. More convoys have been sent.

The reports are coming the accused have held the passengers hostage.
