Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that the JI believes in delivery, not only making demands. The JI supreme leader expressed these views, here on Wednesday, while inaugurating the Rashid Minhas Educational Complex and a pumping station established to supply water to 1,000 households in Nazimabad No. 1 under Nazimabad Town.Hafiz Naeemur Rehman toured the educational complex in detail and met with teachers and students. Speaking to the media afterward, he said the establishment of the Rashid Minhas Educational Complex in an excellent manner was highly commendable, and the pumping station providing water to 1,000 households was a gift for the residents of Nazimabad. He stated that JI does not believe only in making demands but in practically providing facilities to the public. He added that along with fulfilling their responsibilities, they would continue the struggle for the transfer of powers to the grassroots level and for public rights. The sit-in at the Sind h Assembly on February 14 is for the rights of the people, education, health, and basic facilities, he said.He further said town administrations in Sindh are given extremely limited resources, a major portion of which is spent on salaries, while responsibilities of water and sewerage, solid waste management, and other departments-despite being separate-still practically fall on town administrations.Hafiz Naeemur Rehman further said that although Sindh's education budget is Rs613 billion, thousands of public schools still lack basic facilities: 28,000 schools have no toilets, 15,000 lack electricity, and more than 7.8 million children are out of school-clear evidence of governmental failure. The JI seeks a uniform, quality, and just education system for children across Pakistan, he said and noted that 43 schools in JI-administered towns have been equipped with modern facilities so far, while improvements have been made in more than 100 schools overall. Quality education is not possible without providing fa cilities to teachers, whom he described as the builders of the nation. He also announced that under Jamaat-e-Islami's Bano Qabil program, free IT courses with 100% scholarships will be provided to boys and girls, along with vocational training in fields such as electrical work, plumbing, tailoring, handicrafts, and solar systems to empower youth.Town Chairman Syed Muhammad Muzaffar said that the Nazimabad pumping station has supplied water to about 1,000 households after 15 years. The station was built at a cost of more than Rs150 million and will be further upgraded to provide water to an additional 500 households. He added that the pumping station was completed within six months despite obstacles created by the water tanker mafia. The ceremony was also attended by JI Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar, JI leader Syed Wajih Hassaan, Vice Town Chairman Nauman Siddiqui, Vice Town Chairman North Nazimabad Ziauddin Jami, Deputy Director Naveed Habib, Steering Committee Chairman Muhammad Ali, District Central Secretar y Sohail Zaidi, Information Secretary Zahid Askari, and others.
