Lahore: Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and Nazim of public gathering, Liaqat Baloch has said that Jamaat-e-Islami's upcoming Ijtima-e-Aam will prove to be a message of national unity, as the agreed-upon Constitution is being tampered with.Liaqat Baloch expressed these views while presiding over a consultative meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan on Wednesday. Naib Emir Mian Muhammad Aslam, Deputy Secretary General Syed Waqas Jafri, Sheikh Usman Farooq, Emir Central Punjab Muhammad Javed Kasuri, Emir JI Lahore Ziauddin Ansari Advocate, Zikrullah Mujahid, Syed Ihsanullah Waqas, Abdul Wasey and others were also present on the occasion.Liaqat Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami's historic public gathering will be held at Minar-e-Pakistan on November 21, 22, and 23. Development work in Greater Iqbal Park related to the gathering is progressing rapidly and will be completed before November 20, he added.He stated that the consensus-based Constitution of 1973 is being undermined, and the self-serving attitude of the c oalition government is causing irreparable damage to the Constitution and national unity. The 26th and 27th constitutional amendments are making the national consensus Constitution completely controversial, which will severely affect the trust of the federating units in the federation.Liaqat Baloch added that all arrangements have been made to weaken and subdue the judiciary. These elements never accepted the supremacy of the judiciary before and are now determined to render it powerless and ineffective. The President, Chief of Staff, or any high-ranking official cannot be exempt from accountability. This amendment is against the spirit of the Constitution and is unacceptable in any case, he concluded.
