Islamabad: Judicial Commission of Pakistan has confirmed 11 out of 13 Additional judges of Lahore High Court, extended tenure of Justice Tariq Mahmood Bajwa for six months; meanwhile Justice Raja Ghazanfar Ali Khan was not confirmed.

The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (Lahore High Court) met on Thursday at the Conference Room of the Supreme Court of Pakistan for making recommendations for confirmation of Additional Judges as Judges of the Lahore High Court.

The meeting was chaired by the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Khan Afridi, being the Chairperson. The Commission recommended, by majority of its total membership, the confirmation of the following Additional Judges as Judges of the Lahore High Court, after due consideration of the relevant Data Form, Antecedents and evaluation of material placed before it, Justice Hassan Nawaz Makhdoom, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court, Justice Malik Waqar Haider Awan, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court, Justice Sardar Akbar Ali, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court, Justice Syed Ahsan Raza Kazmi, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court, Justice Malik Javid Iqbal Wains, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court, Justice Muhammad Jawad Zafar, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court, Justice Khalid Ishaq, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court, Justice Malik Muhammad Awais Khalid, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court, Justice Chaudhry Sultan Mahmood, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court, Justice Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court and Justice Ms. Abher Gul Khan, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court.

Similarly, the Commission, by majority of its total membership, recommended extension of term of Justice Tariq Mahmood Bajwa, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court for six months, while Justice Raja Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Additional Judge, Lahore High Court was not confirmed.
