Karachi: Fazil Jamili, President of the Karachi Press Club, and Sohail Afzal Khan, its Secretary, met with Inspector General of Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, at his office on Thursday. They expressed deep concern over the closure of roads leading to the Karachi Press Club two days prior.They informed IG Sindh that the Press Club is a second home for journalists, and they also need to access it for their professional duties. They stressed that restricting the movement of journalists under the pretext of stopping protesters is unacceptable in any way.IG Sindh apologized for the incident and assured them that efforts would be made to prevent such an unpleasant situation from occurring again.On this occasion, he directed DIG South, Asad Ali Raza, to coordinate with the Press Club to devise a strategy to ensure that the roads leading to and from the Press Club are not blocked under any circumstances.
