Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif while demanding exemplary accountability in PIMS fire incident has said if the system has to be corrected then accountability be made exemplary.

"the credibility of the government should be established. Who have to be regulated have themselves become regulator. No one tendered resignation. Government itself had to obtain resignations, he said in a statement on social media X.

He went on to say every department has its regulatory institutions which review performance of this department like state bank, OGRA Petroleum., Finance, Banking, NEPRA Power sector.

He held regulator of health sector in Islamabad comprises owners of hospitals and medical colleges who did not tender resignations on their own even after incident and government obtained resignations from them. Who have to be regulated have become regulator.

Hundreds of hospitals in Islamabad are not having licenses since several years. They are not registered. If any one is responsible, one should tell.
