Kohlu’s key road link remains cut off for third consecutive day, hundreds stranded

Kohlu: A major road connecting Kohlu district with Mir Ismail Kach remained blocked for the third consecutive day after being washed away by flash floods triggered by heavy rains, leaving hundreds of residents stranded.

According to local sources, the road has suffered extensive damage at multiple locations due to strong flood currents, completely suspending traffic.

The disruption has cut off the affected areas from the district headquarters, creating serious difficulties for hundreds of people.

Residents said the closure has disrupted the supply of food, medicines and other essential commodities, while patients, students, women and elderly people are facing severe hardships.

Despite the passage of three days, restoration work on the damaged road has yet to begin.

Residents have urged the provincial government and the relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the situation and dispatch heavy machinery to restore the road without delay.

They warned that continued disruption of the land route was adding to the hardships of the affected population.
