KP CM appears before EC in case of threatening Election staff in by polls

Islamabad: Chief Minister (CM) KP Sohail Afridi has appared in Election Commission (EC) in the case of threatening EC staff in by polls.

A 5-member bench of EC presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja took up for hearing case of violating election code of conduct and threatening Election staff Tuesday.

EC had summoned in person Sohail Afridi in previous hearing . Upon it CM KP appeared before EC.

Ali Bokhari, counsel of CM KP was also along with him.

During the hearing of the case the counsel Ali Bokhari said there are two to three petitions regarding NA-18 and these be clubbed.

Special secretary law said upon it that this case be seen separately.

Special secretary law argued EC has powers it can take action if its directives are not complied with. Action be taken in regard to this case as per law and constitution. Who are answerable in this case should give reply on merit. I will assist commission.

Special secretary law said as per report of monitoring officer this is violation of law and is tantamount to non complying with the directives of EC.

It is pertinent to mention here there is case of threatening election staff during election campaign in NA-18.
