KP Government is striving to promote and protect forests

Peshawar: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Forests, stated that the provincial government is taking concrete measures to promote forests. Under the Spring Plantation Campaign, trees are was planted across the province, which will have a positive impact on the environment. He expressed these views while speaking at the "Ashar Plantation" tree plantation event organized by the Forest Department in Kot Tehsil Dargai. The event was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Malakand, Assistant Commissioner Dargai, officers and staff of the Forest Department, along with students from government schools and local people. Under the "Ashar Plantation" Campaign, forest department officials, in collaboration with the local welfare organization "Naway Sahar," students from government schools, and local residents, planted around two thousand trees of different species.

Additionally, the Special Assistant on Forests, Pir Musavir Khan, distributed three thousand plants

among the local people. While addressing the plantation event, SACM Pir Musavir Khan said that under he leadership of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and in line with the vision of the founder chairman Imran Khan, the provincial government is striving to promote and protect forests. He emphasized that it is only through extensive plantation that we can combat climate change. He highlighted the importance of tree plantation and encouraged people to plant as many trees as possible to foster a healthy and green environment. Pir Musavir Khan stated that trees absorb harmful carbon gases and help reduce the

adverse effects of climate change. Speaking about the plantation efforts in Malakand, he mentioned

that the Forest Department will plant a total of one million trees in Malakand. He also praised the participation of non-governmental organizations in the tree plantation campaign, calling it

commendable. He urged people to plant trees not only at their homes but everywhere, as trees are

essential for environmental protection and enhance the beauty of the area. Pir Musavir Khan

encouraged students and youth to work alongside the government to make the province greener and

more prosperous.
