KP Public Day Initiative Ensures Swift Resolution of Public Complaints: Shafiullah Jan

Kohat: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Shafiullah Jan, on Sunday said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government's Public Day initiative aims to ensure swift, transparent, and sustainable resolution of citizens' problems.

Speaking to the media during a Public Day held at his office in Hangu Phatak, Kohat, Shafiullah Jan said the provincial government was committed to bridging the gap between the administration and the public by taking governance directly to people's doorsteps. He said the initiative was designed to expedite decision-making and provide immediate relief to citizens.

A large number of residents from Kohat and adjoining areas, including social activists and community elders, attended the session and raised issues related to electricity, gas and water shortages, sanitation, dilapidated roads, drainage, healthcare and education facilities, as well as delays in government offices.

Shafiullah Jan listened to the grievances patiently and issued on-the-spot telephonic and written directives to the concerned departments, instructing officials to resolve the issues on a priority basis. He warned that negligence or unnecessary delays in addressing public complaints would not be tolerated.

He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, was pursuing people-centric policies, adding that Public Day forums were a key component of this approach. He directed officials to conduct field visits and assess problems firsthand instead of relying solely on paperwork.

All complaints received during the Public Day are being formally recorded and their progress will be closely monitored, he said, stressing that public trust was the government's most valuable asset.

'Public service is a sacred responsibility,' Shafiullah Jan added, pledging that all available resources would be mobilised to ensure timely relief for the people.
