Lahore Police arrest three officers for kidnapping and extorting Rs. 500,000 from Dr. Mukhtar

Lahore: As per an official handout from DIG Operations Lahore, Lahore Police has dispelled the impression of inaction against fellow officers. Setting another example of departmental accountability, an immediate case was registered, and arrests were made against police personnel involved in the crime.According to details, an extortion incident was reported two days ago in the jurisdiction of Model Town Police Station, where the suspects allegedly kidnapped Dr. Mukhtar from his home and extorted Rs. 500,000 from him. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran took notice of the incident and ordered the immediate registration of a case based on Dr. Mukhtar's complaint, along with the arrest of the suspects.The police team swiftly identified and arrested three police personnel involved in the crime. The arrested officers include Constable Waqas, Constable Nafees, and Constable Asif. The suspects have been sent for an identification parade. Raids are ongoing to arrest other suspects, RanaQurban and Adnan.

On this occasion, DIG Operations stated that departmental action against the involved officers has also been initiated. He urged citizens to report legitimate complaints against the police with confidence, assuring that immediate action will be taken. Whether the crime involves police officers or ordinary citizens, swift action will follow.Faisal Kamran emphasized that eliminating corrupt officers tarnishing the reputation of the police force is a top priority. Over the past eleven months, more than 330 police personnel have faced departmental accountability. He reaffirmed the commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against bribery and corruption.
