Karachi: Legendary cricketer and Pakistan cricket's great former captain Javed Miandad will join the Independence Day ceremony at the Civic Center building here.

Cricketer Javed Miandad met the Director General Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Asif Jan Siddiqui at the Civic Center here, said a statement on Wednesday.

Following the meeting, Asif Jan Siddiqui briefed the legendary cricketer on the ongoing preparations for Independence Day at the Civic Center building and also invited him to attend a special ceremony being held at KDA on the occasion of Independence Day on August 14. Javed Miandad graciously accepted and appreciated.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, the development of Karachi, and various other issues were discussed in detail in a cordial atmosphere.

During the meeting, the DG KDA appreciated Javed Miandad's invaluable services to Pakistan cricket, stating that the country's renowned athletes are national assets and role models for the younger generation.
