Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has expressed reservations over the property related law enacted by Punjab government.

Chief Justice (CJ) LHC Aalia Neelum took up for hearing case against Punjab Property Ownership Ordinance (PPOO) Thursday.

The court while expressing reservation over law related to property enacted by Punjab government removed objections on 6 applications.

The court inquired from state counsel what this joke is going on. Patwari and AC are now fond of becoming judge. One matter is pending hearing in Supreme Court (SC) then how patwari can initiate proceedings. Has Pakistan now become jungle. Will the patwari and Tehsildar who prepare fake documents will decide about the properties.

CJ LHC Aalia Neelum remarked we will not allow this injustice to be done. If AC and patwari are so fond of becoming judge then they should appear in the examination and become part of the system. Your PEERA is doing what now. Will it give degrees to people now.

Who has enacted this law. Was any consultation made with any legal brain. You constituted tribunals but they are too merely deception of eye.

It is pertinent to mention here petitions were filed by advocate Qamar Zaman and others.

The petitioner have taken plea in the petitions that Punjab government has enacted new law under which Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Assistant Commissioner (AC) have been delegated powers regarding property disputes.

Property was acquired on lease for 50 years. The case was pending hearing in SC. The other respondent filed application with DC under new law.

DC Faisalabad sealed the property under new law. It is requested court should declare DC decision null and void.

The court while issuing notice on the petitions sought reply on December 22.
