LHC issues written order regarding hearing of petition against election amendment act


Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued written order in respect of hearing of petition against Election amendment act.

Justice Shakil Ahmad of LHC issued one page written order on the application of Azhar Siddique advocate.

It was said in the written order that as per Additional Attorney General (AAG) the aggrieved party has resorted to Supreme Court (SC). AAG should present record about the petition of this nature pending hearing in SC.

It was said in the order as per petitioner the petition filed in SC has not been fixed for hearing.

The court adjourned further hearing of the case till August 19.

Citizen Munir Ahmad has filed the petition through Azhar Siddique advocate.

The petitioner has taken the plea the election amendment act is aimed at making SC decision ineffective. It is requested to court to nullify election amendment act declaring it in conflict with the constitution.
