Lahore: A division bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) while restraining from collecting Professional Sales Tax (PST) from lawyers has issued stay order. The bench was headed by Justice Abid Aziz. The court while issuing notice to government of Punjab and Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has sought reply. The petitioner Babar Murtaza president Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) took the plea recovering PST from lawyers is illegal. Government funds are not provided to lawyers bars while all the expenses of bar are paid out of our own pockets. The petitioner requested the court to declare recovery of PST by PRA null and void.
