LHC seeks details of cases registered against Senator Ejaz Ch in May 9 related 4 cases

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has heard bail pleas of PTI leader senator Ejaz Chaudrhy in May 9 related four cases.

A two members bench presided over by Justice Shabaz Rizvi took up the cases for hearing Thursday.

The court while seeking details of cases registered against Ejaz Chaudhry ordered to submit record on challenging bail of co-accused.

The court allowed to summon the relevant record on the request of state counsel.

The court ordered to adjourn hearing for indefinite period.

Deputy Prosecutor General (DPG) told the court during the hearing of the case that 16 prime accused are nominated in the case. Some of them are on interim bail and some have been declared proclaimed offenders.

According to him bail pleas of Ejaz Chaudhry, Shafqat Mehmood and Omar Sarfraz Cheema have been dismissed. The bail plea of PTI founder has also been approved in this case.

DPG told the court challan of the case has been filed. The statements of prosecution witnesses have been recorded. Cross questioning of some prosecution witnesses has been completed in trial court.

Mian Ashfaq counsel for Ejaz Chaudhry took the plea case against his client has been registered on political basis. It is requested to court to approve his bail plea.

Ejaz Chaudhry has resorted to court in connection with bail in May 9 related 4 cases.
