Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought reports on growing incidents of stray dogs bites from respective departments.

Report from Additional Medical Superintendent Mayo Hospital was filed in the court during the hearing of the case against non availability of anti rabies vaccine.

It has been said in the report number of patients affected by stray dogs bites have gone up during 14 months in Mayo hospital.

About 1796 patients were brought in Mayo hospital from September 24, 2024 till now .

Justice Khalid Ishaq expressed concern over report saying animals have too rights. But dogs are biting the children of Ashriful Makhlooqat (the noblest of all creations) on roads. The respective departments should file reports.

Azhar Siddique advocate counsel for the petitioner said administration is taking no action against the stray dogs. Children cannot come out of homes in different areas. They have become terrified. Court should take action against the responsible persons.

The court ordered live stock, local government and health department should hold meeting. Provide us 6-point TORs. The respective departments should file report on next hearing.
