LHC seeks report on protection of rights of special persons particularly on action taken on non implementation of special persons quota

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued its written order with reference to protection of rights of special persons.

The court has directed state counsel to get instruction on several points and present report. Jus tice Khalid Ishaq of LHC issued 3-page written order on the petition of Muhammad Shahbaz Tuesday.

It has been said in the court's order state counsel told that directives have been issued to all departments for implementation of the law enacted for protection of special persons.

The court has sought reply from Assistant Advocate General (AAG) on several points.

Report has been sought through the written order that has social welfare department evolved digital system in connection with certificates of special persons. Has any soft ware or such mobile app has been developed for special persons which could provide emergency assistance. Has social welfare department worked out data of special persons or otherwise.

It has been said in the court's order report has been sought what actions have been taken on non implementation of special persons quota. Were steps taken to digitalize medical treatment and appointment system in respect of special persons.

Is clinic on wheel facility from Punjab government available to special persons.

LHC directed the state counsel to seek directives in regard to all points.

The hearing of the case was adjourned till January 19.
