Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought report on the steps for making Basant secure in connection with petition filed against permission for celebrating Basant.
Justice Owais Khalid of LHC took up for hearing petitions filed by Judicial Activism Panel and others Wednesday.
During the hearing of the case DC Lahore , DG PR and others appeared in the court.
Director General Public Relations (DGPR) told the court we are running campaign in print and electronic media. We are running awareness campaign in this regard since three days.
The court directed DGPR to make consultation with DC Lahore on this matter.
The court inquired how many meetings have been held with LESCO.
DC Lahore told the court LESCO has assured it will also make all arrangements.
SSP told on being inquired from court that a control room has been set up in DC office wherein people from all institutions will remain present.
Counsel for walled city told the court notices have been issued to dilapidated buildings.
The counsel for petitioner said in his arguments government has banned pasting picture of any person on kit. Now "Nak da Koka" song has also been banned.
The court directed the counsel for the petitioner to file separate petition on this matter.
