Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has stayed auction of Municipal committee shops in Jaranwala.

Chaudhry Shoaib Salim advocate gave arguments on behalf of the petitioners.

Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad, Assistant commissioner Faisalabad, Municipal committee and others have been made respondents in the petition.

The petitioners said Municipal committee had auctioned the shops for five years in 2024 but recently deputy commissioner has issued advertisement for auctioning these shops again.

The petition said administration cannot put shops to auction before 5 years under local government act.

Court should order for stopping auction of shops in Jaranwala on July 25 besides nullifying the notification in connection with auction of the shops again issued by deputy commissioner Faisalabad.

LHC issued order for stopping the auction of shops in Jaranwala on July 25 forthwith.
