Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned Attorney General (AG) and Advocate General Punjab on the petition praying the court for maintaining ban on speeches of founder of MQM.

A 3-member full bench of LHC presided over by Chief Justice (CJ) Aalia Neelum took up the case for hearing Wednesday.

Justice Farooq Haider and Justice Tariq Nadim are also included in the bench.

The court while issuing notice of 27-A to AG and AG Punjab gave time to petitioner to appoint his counsel.

The court also directed to issue cause list for summoning counsel for MQM founder on next hearing.

The petitioner Abdullah Malik advocate took the plea peace was established in Karachi after court's orders. Therefore, ban on speeches of MQM founder should stay.

CJ LHC Aalia Neelum said this matter is linked to peace of the country. Therefore, notices have been issued to all respondents and petitioners.
