Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Vice Emir Liaqat Baloch and Secretary General Ameerul Azeem have urged the government to reduce electricity and gas prices to support industrial development, stressing that the promotion of local products is vital for economic improvement.They called upon the business community to join hands with Jamaat-e-Islami in building a better Pakistan.The JI leaders expressed these views during their visit to the ongoing Mera Brand Pakistan exhibition at the Expo Centre Lahore.Speaking to the media, Liaqat Baloch said that Mera Brand Pakistan will play a crucial role in promoting domestic industries. 'For economic revival, it is essential that the government remove the unjust tax burden from citizens and industries. The scourge of interest-based lending and the harsh conditions of the IMF have brought our economy and industry to a standstill,' he said.Highlighting JI Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman's vision, Baloch noted that under the Bano Qabil program, young people are receiving dignified employment opportunities through IT training. He added that Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has been a strong advocate for the rights of the business community at all levels and urged traders to stand with him in safeguarding their interests.Ameerul Azeem said every citizen should take pride in Mera Brand Pakistan, as it will promote industries and create employment opportunities for millions. He demanded that the government encourage industrial growth by lowering electricity and gas tariffs and reducing taxes. 'The Pakistan Business Forum has given Mera Brand Pakistan the potential to succeed,' he remarked.
