Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has approved bail after arrest plea of accused Muhammad Tahir who is arrested in Libya boat accident case.
Justice Amjid Rafiq has issued 10-page written order.
It has been said in the order the investigation into international crime like human trafficking cannot run on mere suspicions.
The court maintained FIA should have sought legal cooperation from international institutions for acquiring evidence from other country.
As per order collecting whatsapp chats, call record, bank record, travelling documents and digital evidence are essential.
According to order the standard of the investigation should be such which could prove the acts and character of the accused legally. Reforms in law, effective investigation and strong legislation is inevitable to deal with human trafficking in effective way.
The court maintained only transfer of amount in bank account is not evidence of involvement in human trafficking while merely suspicious, speculation or bank transaction are not sufficient for proving human smuggling.
LHC ordered to release accused Muhammad Tahir on bail against the surety bonds in sum of Rs 5 lac.
