Lahore: Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz has accorded approval to build Punjab Film City (PFC) on 50 acres land for promoting film industry in the province.
This project will be established inside Nawaz Sharif IT city.
This project is being declared first complete end to end media production hub of the country.
According to CM Punjab state of the art facilities will be provided to all departments of film, T V, Animation and Digital media under one roof so that country’s film industry could be developed according to modern requirements.
Maryam Nawaz said modern studios, sound stages and modern facilities of VFX will be provided in Punjab Film City (PFC). It will curtail reliance on foreign countries.
Unique sets, natural scenes and a central lake will be part of the project. Modern Convention halls will also be constructed for holding international events, and award shows.
New opportunities for training and employment will be provided to the youths due to establishment of media trade hub and film and music school.
She held this project will not only create thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities but it will help place Pakistan at eminent position in global media and entertainment industry.
She said this project will be completed in phases.
On the other side a meeting was held under Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz wherein major decisions for improving traffic system in all major cities of the province including Lahore were taken.
It was decided in the meeting all key highways of Lahore will be made model with reference to traffic management.
CM Punjab directed that traffic police should monitor violations with the help of cameras installed on mobile vehicles.
It was decided the motorcycle of motorcyclist who drives in zigzag way will be kept locked in police station for 3 days.
