Lahore: Burden of population can become a huge threat for a country's resources," said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif in her message on World Population Day. She added,"Rapid increase in population growth rate has become a root of many economic and social problems." She highlighted,"Main reason for poverty, child labor, poor healthcare, insufficient educational resources and food scarcity is the uncontrolled expansion of population."

Madam Chief Minister said,"It is feared that the available resources will be enough to meet country's needs just for a few decades." She added,"Pakistan can accelerate the pace of development by combating climate change and increasing population." She underscored,"Before ensuring the provision of health and education facilitiesin different areas, ratio of population and available resources should be kept in mind."
