Message of the President on the Independence Day of Lebanon

Islamabad: President of Pakistan has extended warm felicitations to the Government and the brotherly people of Lebanon on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Lebanon, reaffirming Pakistan's strong commitment to further strengthening the historic ties between the two nations.

The President highlighted that Pakistan and Lebanon enjoy close and cordial relations built over decades, shaped by shared perspectives on regional and global issues. He emphasized that Pakistan attaches great importance to its longstanding friendship with Lebanon and remains committed to enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation.

Expressing confidence in Lebanon's path towards stability, progress and prosperity, the President underscored Pakistan's appreciation for the spirit of cooperation between the two countries, including collaboration at various international fora.

He voiced Pakistan's full support for the Lebanese Presidency's call urging guarantors of the ceasefire to fulfil their obligations and press Israel to halt its aggression. The President said that Israeli occupying forces must withdraw from Southern Lebanon in accordance with the ceasefire agreement. He strongly condemned Israel's military aggression, repeated violations of Lebanese sovereignty, and attacks on civilian areas, terming them a clear breach of international law, the UN Charter and the ceasefire accord.

Reaffirming Pakistan's unwavering support for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the President called on the international community to ensure the ceasefire is upheld and that displaced Lebanese citizens can safely return to their homes. He assured that Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with the resilient people of Lebanon.

As Lebanon marks its Independence Day, the President conveyed that the people of Pakistan join their Lebanese brothers and sisters in prayers for lasting peace, stability and prosperity. He reiterated Pakistan's commitment to continue extending all possible support to Lebanon and to work together for a future grounded in mutual respect, shared aspirations and enduring friendship.
