Modi-led fascist govt’s cruelties ongoing in IIOJK due to criminal silence of int’l bodies: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE: Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and former parliamentary leader, Liaqat Baloch on Friday while condemning abrogation of Article 370 & 35-A of Indian Constitution by the Modi-led government and revoking special status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK), said that India clearly violated international law and international bodies maintaining a criminal silence on it.

Liaqat Baloch said that neither India cannot revoke the special status of IIOJK, nor it can eradicate the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

On August 5, 2019, the Kashmir Black Day, Liaqat Baloch said that on this date occupied Kashmir was practically converted into a big jail. Firing, killing of innocent people and cruelties on the youth have been rampant in the area since long, as all the occupied valley was under protracted lockdown and the Kashmiri leadership put behind the bars. Hurriyet leaders were tortured like Muhammad Yasin Malik who was awarded life imprisonment two times for those acts he did never committed.

He appealed to the United Nations, international bodies, Islamic world and human rights organizations to end their apathy on the issue of occupied Kashmir and take prompt actions against India and support Kashmiris in achieving their right to self-determination as it is only durable solution to the problem.

Liaqat Baloch said that political leadership of Pakistan, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan is at war of power politics but it is not paying any heed towards the plight of Kashmiri people. Only observing the day for one time throughout the year, delivering speeches, holding seminars and lengthy speeches will not sort out the issue of occupied Kashmir, he added.

For the solution of the Kashmir issue, the national leadership should prepare a unanimous policy and initiate results-oriented actions, he said, adding it should not take any step that might favour India’s cruel acts.
