Quetta: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Saturday chaired a special meeting in Quetta following the blast near Quetta Chaman Phatak.
During the meeting, the Inspector General of Balochistan Police presented an initial report on the explosion. Participants strongly condemned the cowardly attack on innocent people and expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy with the families of the martyrs.
Mohsin Naqvi said the federal government stood firmly with the Balochistan government during this difficult time. He said terrorists had demonstrated extreme brutality by targeting innocent civilians and added that the great sacrifices of the martyrs would always be remembered.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti thanked Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for standing with Balochistan during every difficult period. He said the nation owed a debt to the blood of the martyrs and vowed that terrorists belonging to 'Fitna al-Hindustan' would be brought to their logical end.
He said the families of the martyrs would not be left alone and added that he was personally supervising the medical treatment of those injured in the blast.
Senior officers of the Balochistan Police and law enforcement agencies also attended the meeting.
