Lahore: Motorway Police Central Zone intercepted a shipment of 170 kilograms (4.5 maunds) of hazardous, foul-smelling meat intended for sale in Lahore.
NHMP officers Eagle-II IP Abid Manzoor and Shafiq stopped a suspicious black Toyota Corolla XLI (registration number BGJ-529). Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered four packs of illegal meat emitting a strong, foul odor.
The officers detained the vehicle, driver, and occupants, and took it to the Beat Camp Office, where it was impounded. The seized meat was destined for hotels and restaurants across Lahore. The suspects admitted to transporting the meat to Lahore.
The NHMP notified the Punjab Food Authority, and the confiscated meat, suspects, and vehicle were handed over for further action. DIG Syed Farid Ali praised the officers for their professional duties.
