Islamabad: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman JandK People's Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJandK, has paid glowing tributes to the life and political struggle of the Kashmirs legendary leader, Syed Ali Gilani on his 5th death anniversary, who was put under house arrest in 2o10 and kept in illegal incarnation , denying him fresh breeze of air and facilities to treat his serious ailments during the last years of life. His last decade as an ailing leader under detention is a testimony of how India shows her hateful and prejudicial treatment with the people and in particular with popular political leaders of Jammu and Kashmir but still calling itself saviour of the Kashmiris.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani stated that Syed Ali Gilani passed away in shackles of detention, but never compromised his cherished ideals of freedom and the right of self-determination until he attained martyrdom that further exposed India's myopic outlook on the JandK dispute. He said that Syed Gilani not only fought a peaceful political struggle , but articulated disaster of human rights edifice from Kashmir to Palestine.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani called upon the international human rights voices of the world to translate their power of ideas and principles into action in favour of the subjugated peoples of Kashmir for their rights and the right of self-determination at a critical juncture when the UN itself faces onslaught by selfish powers of the world. He appealed to the Muslim world, African and Latin American and East Europeans to come forward united to prove their worth without fear or favour for the suppressed and brutalized people and nations of the world
