Lahore: Muhammad Tariq Qureshi assumed charge as Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab at the Sports Board Punjab on Friday.

Upon his arrival at the National Hockey Stadium, senior sports officials welcomed him and presented a bouquet. He also visited the National Hockey Stadium and the Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall. Director Admin Abid Shaukat and Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum were present on the occasion.

After assuming charge, Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said he would take all possible measures to promote sports culture in the province under the leadership of Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar.

He said Punjab possesses great sports potential and emphasized the need to organize regular competitions to identify and promote fresh sports talent, particularly from remote areas of the province.
