Mushaal Mullick urges OIC to take decisive action against India’s apartheid, genocidal acts in IIOJK

Islamabad: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the wife of unlawfully incarcerated Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, on Monday urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take decisive actions to put a permanent halt on the India's apartheid policies, genocidal acts and state terrorism in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and ensure a lasting and durable solution to the decades-long Kashmir dispute.

Mushaal Mullick, who is the Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation, met with a high-level delegation led by the OIC Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir, Yousef Muhammed Saleh Aldobey. During the meeting, she briefed the delegation on the grave human rights violations and war crimes being committed by Indian forces in the occupied valley. Yasin Malik's daughter Razia Sultan and leaders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference were also present in the meeting.

Mushaal urged the OIC delegation to adopt a proactive role in exposing the ongoing apartheid, brutal oppression and reign of terror unleashed by goons of RSS backed by fascist Indian regime in the scenic valley before it's too late.. She called for tangible and practical measures to resolve the decades-old dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and relevant United Nations resolutions.

Mushaal expressed deep concern over the fabricated and politically motivated charges filed against Yasin Malik. She informed the delegation that Yasin, who has been a peaceful advocate for the Kashmiri right to self-determination, was being subjected to inhumane treatment in Indian custody. He has been denied a fair trial, medical treatment, and basic human rights, and is being kept in solitary confinement. She warned that the fascist Indian government, fearing his influence and popularity, may go to any extent - even resorting to judicial murder - to silence the voice of Kashmir's peaceful resistance.

She also highlighted the plight of other Kashmiri political prisoners who are unjustly incarcerated in Indian jails under draconian laws. Mushaal urged the OIC to raise the issue of their unlawful detention on all international platforms and build diplomatic pressure on the Narendra Modi regime to ensure their immediate and safe release.

The Hurriyat leader emphasized that the Kashmiri people have endured decades of repression, including extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, media blackouts, and systematic violations of their basic human rights.

'The people of Kashmir have been living under an apartheid-like regime for far too long. The international community must stop turning a blind eye to India's crimes simply because of their economic interests in the region,' she remarked. 'India continues to defy international law with impunity, taking advantage of the global silence and inaction,' she added.

Mushaal also condemned the increasing militarisation of the region and the demographic changes being imposed by the Indian government in violation of international laws and UN resolutions. She reiterated that the Kashmiri people have not given up their struggle and remain resilient despite unimaginable suffering.

Raziyah Sultan, the courageous daughter of incarcerated Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, has emerged as a powerful voice for the oppressed children of Kashmir. During the meeting, she shed light on the horrific ethnic cleansing and systematic violence inflicted upon Kashmiri people by Indian occupation forces. She highlighted the brutal martyrdom of innocent children, the psychological trauma they endure, and the mental health crises plaguing the youth in the occupied valley.

Raziyah recounted the barbaric atrocities committed by Indian forces in front of children, leaving them scarred for life. Schools, once safe havens for learning, have become targets of repression, with young students subjected to intimidation, violence, and even death. The mental anguish faced by these children-living in constant fear of raids, arrests, and killings-has created a generation suffering from severe anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress, she added. In addition to advocating for Kashmir's oppressed youth, Razia Sultan passionately appealed for the release of her father, Yasin Malik, a symbol of Kashmir's resistance against Indian occupation.

The OIC delegation, while expressing solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir, assured Mushaal that the organisation remained committed to advocating for the rights of Kashmiris. The OIC Special Envoy Saleh Aldobey promised to raise the issue of Yasin Malik's unlawful detention and the broader Kashmir conflict at all relevant international fora. He expressed hope that the dawn of freedom for the people of Kashmir was near and affirmed that the OIC would continue to support their just and legitimate cause for self-determination.
