Kohistan: NAB has approved plea bargain application of Muhammad Ayub, major accused in Kohistan mega corruption scandal of billion of rupees.

As per sources the accused has agreed to return Rs 1.45 billion under plea bargain.

Chairman NAB has accorded approval in this regard.

As per sources Muhammad Ayub is charged with doing bank transaction of overall Rs 3 billion 45 crore.

This has come to light during investigation that the accused purchased properties worth million of rupees in Islamabad, Abbottabad and Mansehra. NAB has now freezed them and auction process will soon be started.

NAB said the approved application of plea bargain will be presented in Accountability Court within three days. Following completion of legal proceedings therein, the recovered amount will be deposited in national kitty.

It is pertinent to mention here this case pertains to causing heavy financial loss to national exchequer through alleged embezzlement and corruption in development projects in district Kohistan. The loss is estimated at Rs 40 billion.

The process of further arrests and recoveries by NAB is underway in this case.
